Summer Meet-up
Hi Everyone
We’re planning an outdoor social event for language cafe users and ESOL students on Weds 5th August from 6.30pm onwards at South Hill Park, Bracknell. Meet on the terrace outside the cafe. Bring a picnic and drinks, or you can buy drinks at the cafe. Bring a friend/family if you like.
Hope to see you there!

July Update
Hi everyone
We’re sorry we haven’t been able to meet up this term because of the coronavirus situation. It’s now officially the end of term, and we’re hoping to be able to start the cafe again from mid-September at the Open Learning Centre. We’ll be making some changes to make sure everyone can be safe at the sessions. We’ll update you on this when we have all the details, as well as the term dates for the cafe.
In the meantime, we regularly post learning tips and links to videos on the Lexicon Network facebook group, which is specifically for open learning centre students. If you can’t access the group, here are some good links you can have a look at, to keep learning and practising your English.
Easy English: good for lower group students. Here’s a good example: //youtu.be/-TrE6VdtgLE
Mark Kulek ESL also does some great simple videos – here’s a link to one of them:
For higher level resources, mmmenglish is a great channel – here’s a link to one of their videos:
A very useful website is English Club, which can be found at http://englishclub.com
We hope you find these helpful – keep learning!

May Update
Hello to all language cafe users
Hope you are all doing OK in these different times. We have been putting links and updates on the Facebook page, which is called the Lexicon Network. If you aren’t on Facebook, it may be worth joining so you can see the page.
For the Lower Group we have been recommending a series of videos from a website called English for You. You can find the videos on YouTube and they start with very simple English lessons.
Good luck with your learning and we hope to see you again in the Cafe when we can start it again.
Keep safe
Julie and Carolyn
